Vintage Festival Italia || 6th edition

Scommetto che non lo sapevate, ma durante questo weekend appena trascorso si è tenuto un mega evento nella mia piccola Padova, che orgogliosa vi voglio raccontare: il Vintage Festival! Il nome della manifestazione si spiega da solo, ma scommetto che i non-autoctoni non avevano idea che esistesse... in fondo, vi dirò, anch'io l'avevo sottovalutato, altrimenti avrei sicuramente pubblicizzato la cosa per tempo sui miei social. Non era infatti la prima edizione, ma è stata sicuramente la più grande e la meglio organizzata, tanto che ormai l'evento si è guadagnato il primo posto a livello nazionale per quanto riguarda questa categoria! 

I bet you didn't know this: during the last weekend there was a huge event in my little Padua... the Vintage Festival! In this blogpost I want to tell you about it, because I've been so proud of it. The name of the event is explicit enough, but I'd bet that you even had no idea that it existed if you are not a paduan citizen... because I almost forget about it too! It was not the first edition, but definitely the biggest and the best organized one, so much that now this festival has reached the first place in italy in the vintage category!

Vivendo in città, mi era capitato di parteciparvi anche gli anni scorsi, e di certo non me lo ricordavo così: nella cornice dell'ancora nuovissimo Centro Culturale San Gaetano, due piani di allestimenti erano dedicati completamente al mondo della cultura vintage a 360°. Dal mercato della moda al piano terra - da cui, sei anni fa, è iniziato tutto; ad esposizioni di arte e design al piano superiore, con tanto di barbiere old style che tagliava i capelli in diretta; a un corollario di eventi collaterali uno più stimolante dell'altro! Workshops sul giardinaggio urbano e sulla degustazione di the, incontri con autori letterari (un nome su tutti: Nicolai Lilin) e personaggi del mondo dello spettacolo (ne volete un altro? Chef Rubio). Ma andiamo con ordine: entusiasta e piacevolmente sorpresa da quello che ho trovato fra una bancarella e l'altra, ho scattato un piccolo reportage fotografico degli angoli più belli... 

I attended even some past edition because I live in town, but certainly I didn't remember it like this! Placed in the new Cultural Center San Gaetano, the event was set up like an exhibition of the whole vintage world that includes fashion, design and art. There were markets on the ground floor - including an old-style barber cutting hairs of the visitors, exhibitions of contemporary art and design on the top floor, and a lot of other exciting events! Workshops about urban gardening and tasting teas, meetings with literary authors (one above all: Nicolai Lilin) and showbusiness celebrities (another name? Chef Rubio). I was really excited! I took a small photo reportage of the most beautiful corners that I'd love to show you.

Ma, nella maniera più inaspettata, mi sono presa una cotta, e una di quelle belle toste! Vi parlo di Seletti, che ha promosso sul posto la sua nuova collezione "Seletti wears Toiletpaper". Appassionati d'arte ne abbiamo qui? Vi dice niente questo nome? Ho scoperto un mondo dietro questi oggetti di design vestiti di arte contemporanea, quindi ve ne parlerò meglio in un altro post, ma intanto segnatevi il nome e gustatevi le foto degli allestimenti presenti... e immaginate il tuffo al cuore che ho avuto quando, girato l'angolo, mi sono trovata davanti ad un'installazione di videoarte! L'ambiente ricreava, in una piccola mostra, un ambiente casalingo con tanto di cucina, sala da pranzo e living. Vi lascio solo qualche estratto, perchè è stato davvero difficile scattare qualche foto (troppa gente e luce scurissima)

But mostly I had a crush on Seletti's stands, which was promoting its new design collection "Seletti wears Toiletpaper". Art lovers! Are you there? Do you remember that name? I discovered a world behind these design objects matched with contemporary art, and i liked them so much that I decided to talk better about them in the next blogpost. Imagine the heart sank I had when, turning the corner, I found myself in front of a videoart installation! The exhibition recreated a small home environment, complete with a kitchen, a dining room and a livingroom. I leave you only a few pictures, because it's been really hard to take some (too many people around and a very dark light)

Per non parlare del "Fuori Festival" con aperitivo green nel cuore più antico della città, i Giardini dell'Arena: veramente mi sembrava di essere entrata nel mondo di Pinterest! E' inutile commentare che ormai va di moda questa modalità organizzativa nei grandi eventi culturali degli ultimissimi anni, ma che vi posso dire, funziona. Lucine tese fra gli alberi, divanetti in pelle e vecchi letti in ferro battuto, il tutto condito da piacevole musica dal vivo e buffet "floreale"... dai, dite la verità che vi sarebbe piaciuto!

At least, a mention to the "Outdoor Festival", which consisted in a green and hipster "happy hour area" placed in the ancient heart of the city, the Gardens of the Arena. It really seemed to be inside Pinterest! I know this could look like mainstream, but I can tell you, it works. Little lights stretched between the trees, leather couches and old iron beds were placed all around, where you could sit enjoying pleasant live music and a "floral" buffet... I'm sure that you might liked it!

Con questo colpo di classe, caro Vintage Festival, mi hai fatta tua... l'unico rimpianto è averti sottovalutato e essermi persa un sacco di occasioni interessanti a cui adesso vorrei aver partecipato, ma non preoccuparti, l'anno prossimo non succederà! E nemmeno voi dovrete perdervelo, ve lo assicuro: segnatevi già l'appuntamento a settembre 2016 ;)

Dear Vintage Festival, you made me my heart yours! My only regret is to have underestimated this event and missed some interesting opportunities, but I swear next year it won't happen. And you guys, save the date yet: see you on September 2016 ;)

Wish of the week #6 // Dalani edition

Eccomi di rientro finalmente, anche se con un post-lampo per ora... Mi mancava troppo scrivere nel blog, e mi mancava soprattutto la rubrica "Wish of the Week"! Visto che ho un buono da spendere su Dalani.it entro fine mese, in questi giorni navigo spesso in cerca delle offerte più succose. Così alla fine ho deciso di approfittarne per darvi qualche consiglio di acquisto, e per farmi aiutare a scegliere!

Finally I'm back with a new flash-post... I missed too much my blog this summer, especially the "Wish of the Week" column! Well, today I have a coupon from Dalani.it and the deadline to use it is the end of September. This is why I've been surfing on their website these days, looking for some good deals... And why I'm taking the chance to suggest you some home shopping for this week, but also to get back some advice from you too!

Premettendo che non c'è qualcosa di cui avrei particolarmente bisogno, ma che è mero shopping per diletto (❤), sono davvero indecisa: mi piacciono tantissimo i contenitori stropicciati in simil-carta di La Piacentina (nel deal completo se ne trovano di varie misure). Ma è anche una vita che faccio il filo ad uno specchio a raggi da parete, per dare un po' di carattere ai muri della mia camera da letto che sono un po' spogli... 

Actually, I don't need something specific for my home, so this shopping would be only for fun to me (❤). But I cannot chose something anyway! I love the creased simil-paper boxes from La Piacentina (you can find other sizes inside the deal, too). I have always desired a raysed mirror like the one below too! It would fix perfectly in my bedroom, since I have very empty walls...

Danish breakfast with ANNE BLACK

Se io vi dico Anne Black vi viene in mente niente? Beh, da oggi non potrete non ricordarvi di lei: è il nome di una designer danese che produce deliziosi oggetti di ceramica handmade, semplici e funzionali, ma con lo scopo di rendere speciali i nostri momenti domestici quotidiani. Ciò che mi ha conquistato di questi oggetti sono state le linee minimal e i colori semplici: mi sono innamorata a prima vista dei vasi pensili, perfetti per le mie succulente! Per non parlare delle ceramiche da cucina bianche e blu... sceglierne alcune è stato davvero difficile! Visitate il suo shop online e poi ditemi se non vi vengono gli occhi a cuore. Ora questi tre bellissimi pezzi, con cui ho realizzato uno piccolo styling durante la mia colazione di oggi, fanno ora parte della mia casa... e non vedo l'ora di mostrarli agli ospiti ;)

If I say to you "Anne Black company", does it remind you anything? Well, from now you won't forget her name: she is a Danish designer who produces lovely handmade ceramic objects. They are simple and functional, but able to make our daily home moments very special. Their minimal lines and simple colors definitely conquered me: I had a crush especially on the white hanging flowerpot, perfect for my succulents! And what about the blue&white kitchen ceramics? It's been really hard for me to choose only some of them! Let's visit her webshop, and then tell me if you don't fall in love with everything. This morning, I had a funny stylish breakfast with these three beautiful items you see in the pictures below... Now they're part of my home, and I really can't wait to show them to my guests!

Wish of the Week [special edition] // organizzare una wishlist online

E' un po' che questa rubrica manca all'appuntamento, lo so... ma oggi torno con un'edizione speciale, perchè ho pensato che la mia laurea si avvicina e che con gran probabilità i miei invitati non sceglieranno i regali tra le pagine del mio blog XD Come fare quindi per rendere fruibile una lista di desideri in maniera comoda e accessibile a tutti? Ho scoperto che esistono delle piattaforme per organizzare delle wishlist online, e fra tutte vi consiglierei di provare My Special Gifts. E' così facile da usare! Basta creare un evento, e poi aggiungere all'infinito tutto quello che volete, dividendo per categorie. Io per ora ho inserito solo alcuni prodotti per fare un tentativo: ogni immagine ha il link diretto allo shop online per l'acquisto, e quando la lista sarà attiva potrò invitare i miei amici, monitorando anche quanto sale la quota versata! Because my graduation is finally about to come, and I think that my guests will not choose gifts between the pages of my blog XD So, how to make available my wishlist to everyone? Il sito è provvisto anche di un recentissimo shop online, che raccoglie prodotti di design unici nel loro genere... non per niente si chiama Unconventional Gift! Ce n'è per tutte le categorie: casa, abbigliamento, accessori, bambini. E' ancora un po' vuoto (ha recentemente subito un restyling) ma pronto ad accogliere nuovi designer, artigiani e crafters e i loro prodotti non convenzionali. Ecco cosa ho trovato di mio gusto: cosa ne pensate di questi oggetti? Il mio preferito è l'alce a dondolo. Sì, sono ancora giovane per figliare, ma potrei sempre essere io a regalarlo a qualche nipotino... ;)

The website also features a newborn shop online, which collects unique design products: that's why it's called Unconventional Gift! You can find there a lot of categories: home, clothing, accessories, children's stuff. It is a little empty yet because of a recent restyling, but they're ready to welcome new unconventional designers and crafters! Here's what I found: what do you think about these objects below? My favorite one is the handmade moose! Yes, I'm still young to have children, but I could always gift it to some little nephew ;)

Wish of the week #5

Sono due settimane che non scrivo, quindi ora me ne torno con un "wish of the week" bello ghiotto: avete già visto le novità di Primark Home? Le parole d'ordine della catena di abbigliamento e oggettistica irlandese sono sempre le stesse: freschezza, divertimento e piccolo budget! Appena ho visto il video promozionale su facebook mi sono detta che non potevo non dedicare un post alla nuova collezione, perciò ecco i miei preferiti. Mi sono innamorata dei cuscini, ma non solo... c'è l'imbarazzo della scelta, e tutto a prezzi mini mini mini: mi luccicano gli occhi!

Oggi un post veloce veloce, ma devo mostrarvi queste due foto: i miei ultimissimi acquisti da Tiger! Da quando la catena danese ha aperto un negozio nella mia città è una tragedia (questa non è certo la prima volta che ci vado...), ogni volta che passo davanti alla vetrina mi si illuminano gli occhi e non sempre riesco a resistere alla tentazione di entrare a dare un'occhiata. Insomma, stavolta ho ceduto, e naturalmente non ne sono uscita a mani vuote! Ho speso sì e no 15 euro in tutto, e mi piace ogni singolo pezzo... ma soprattutto, potevo non comprarmi le presine a forma di gatto? :3

Today a quite quick post on the blog. I have show you these two pictures: my latest Tiger shopping! Since the Danish stores chain opened a shop in my town, I can't resist to enter every time I step in front of the window. This is not the first time I go there! Well, this time I gave up, and of course I bought something. I spent almost 15 Euros, and I really love every single piece... but above all, I absolutely had to buy that cat potholders! :3

NIPPRIG // a new limited edition from IKEA

Ormai è tradizione che sotto carnevale mamma Ikea ci regali ogni anno una nuova collezione di oggetti di design in edizione limitata, frutto di sempre stimolanti collaborazioni. L'anno scorso ci ha fatte sognare con la linea BRAKIG realizzata con lo studio grafico di Art Rebels (ve la ricordate? Io l'ho amata tanto, ne ho parlato in questo post), mentre ora la svolta è più green... cosa che io non posso che approvare! La nuova linea si chiama NIPPRIG ed esce direttamente dalle foreste di bambù vietnamite :)

At this time of the year, mommy Ikea always gives us a new limited collection of design objects and exciting collaborations. Last year we dreamed a lot with the BRAKIG series, produced with the Art Rebels studio (do you remember it? I loved it so much and I wrote about it here). This time I really approve the green switch: the new edition is called NIPPRIG and it comes out directly from the forests of Vietnam :)

All'insegna della sostenibilità ambientale, per NIPPRIG vengono usate solo fibre naturali come il rattan, il banano, il bambù scelte per la loro rigogliosa crescita in quei territori e le loro proprietà di robustezza, che le rendono perfette per essere utilizzate nel design. Intrecciati dalle sapienti mani di artigiani del luogo, questi prodotti sono perfetti per introdurre una nota naturale e un po' etnica nelle nostre case (anche se le linee sono comunque inconfondibilmente svedesi). Io trovo che siano l'ideale per la primavera ormai quasi alle porte, e voi che ne pensate?

NIPPRIG is a sustainable series made of natural fibers such as rattan, banana and bamboo. They spontaneously grow in that lands and are really strong to be used to make design objects. These materials are weawed together by the local craftsmen, but always keep an unmistakable scandinavian style. I think they're perfect to bring a raw and ethnic note into our houses, this spring about to come... don't you?

Wish of the week #4

Eccomi di ritorno anche con la mia rubrica "wish of the week", e finalmente oserei dire, perchè ho una lista infinita di desideri che non fa altro che allungarsi e che devo assolutamente mettere nero su bianco! Oggi si ricomincia col botto, con un pezzo da novanta di ferm LIVING che sicuramente tutti conoscete: il mitico cesto porta tutto in fil di ferro.

I'm finally back with my beloved "wish of the week" date here on the blog: I have a neverending wishlist that I absolutely have to write down! Today I come back with a famous design object by ferm LIVING that I'm sure everybody of you already knows: the legendary wire basket.

Lo amo per due motivi: il primo perchè ovviamente ha un design nelle mie corde con quei motivi geometrici così nordici, e il secondo perchè è super versatile. Può contenere veramente di tutto e per questo è adatto ad ogni stanza... cosa c'è di più perfetto di un contenitore che permetta di fare ordine e al tempo stesso sia decorativo? Ma lo adoro anche nella versione tavolino, per aggiungere carattere alla zona living. I mie preferiti sono i pastelli, azzurro o rosa :)

I love it for two reasons: it has a very nordic geometric design, and it's very useful in every room you put it. It can contains pretty much everything, so what's more perfect than a container that is so beautiful and decorative too? I like it even in the little table version, because it gives something more to the livingroom. My favourite colours? Pastel pink and light blue :)

Wish of the week #3

Io amo Pinterest perchè mi fa scoprire queste cose. Sì lo so, non ho appena trovato l'acqua calda, quest'oggetto è famoso da mesi... ma come sapete sto ricollezionando tutti i miei desideri arretrati in questa rubrica, quindi lui non può mancare! 

I love Pinterest 'cause it makes me discover this stuff. Yes I know, I haven't just found hot water, this object is well-known for months... but as you know I'm picking up all my old desires in this column, so it can't miss!

Signori e signore, le sac en papier, ovvero un banale sacco in carta riciclata con una scritta sul davanti che ne descrive le proprietà. Niente di più semplice e bellissimo. Ed economico, costa solo 10 euro, quindi non ho scuse per non farlo mio... povera me! Ma guardatelo, non sta bene praticamente in ogni angolo della casa? E' perfetto soprattutto per decorare il workspace. Voglio sapere se voi ce l'avete e come lo usate: ispiratemi :)

Ladies and gentlemen, le sac en papier, that is a common recycled paper bag with its properties written on the front. Nothing more simple and beautiful. And cheap 'cause it costs only 10 euros, so I have no more excuses to make it mine... poor me! But look at it, isn't it cute in every single corner of a house? Mostly it's perfect for decorating the workspace. I wanna know if you have it and how do you use it: inspire me :)

Ah, dimenticavo: dove si compra? Basta digitarlo in Google e vi compariranno decine di siti, ma questo è il più economico che ho trovato, spedizione compresa. Fuori la carta di credito!

Wish of the week #2

E' lui o non è lui? Ma cerrrrto che è lui, il famigerato cesto porta biancheria in cotone di House Doctor! Dite, in quante immagini di Pinterest l'avete visto e bramato, magari senza sapere di chi fosse il design? Io lo voglio da mesi, e ha un prezzo pure accessibile! Ma sono quelle classiche cose per cui pensi "non ne ho davvero bisogno", o "magari lo compro online e poi quando mi arriva non mi piace" ecc... Intanto non posso non aggiungerlo alla mia wishlist, chissà che in un moto di intraprendenza non mi decida a prenderlo prima o poi.

Is it or it's not? But of course it is, the famous House Doctor's laundry basket! Tell me, how many pictures of it have you seen on Pinterest, perhaps without knowing who was the designer? I long it for months, and the price is cheap as well! But these are those classic things that you think "I do not really need it", or "maybe I'll buy it online and then, when I get it at home, I don't like it", etc. In the meantime, I cannot wait to add it to my wishlist, who knows, maybe I'll decide to buy it sooner or later.

House Doctor

Il mio preferito è il "plan to wash", semplice e discreto, ma anche quello con le istruzioni di lavaggio mi sta simpatico! Quello a righe è altrettanto bello, ma non vorrei mi stufasse. Voi quale preferite? Per acquistarlo potete cercare un rivenditore sul sito ufficiale, ma dato che ce ne sono pochissimi in Italia, si può fare anche online: basta digitarlo su Google e troverete diversi siti di arredamento che lo vendono anche in euro (l'unica fregatura sono le spese di spedizione). 

My favorite is the "plan to wash" one, simple and discreet, but also the one with the washing instructions is nice! The striped one is just as beautiful, but it could bore me. Which one do you prefer? To buy it you can find a dealer on the official website, but since there are very few in Italy, you can buy it online too: just type it in Google and you will find several furniture sites that sell it also in euro (the only bug is the shipment cost).

Wish of the Week #1

Un'idea che mi ronzava in testa da tempo per il mio blog era di creare qualche rubrica, per darmi/vi degli argomenti e degli appuntamenti fissi, così finalmente mi sono decisa a fare il primo passo. Siccome mi sono resa conto che la wishlist mentale per la mia casa è sempre più nutrita e soprattutto disordinata, mi è venuta in mente una cosa elementare ma a cui non avevo mai troppo pensato: quale contenitore può essere più adatto per darle corpo e organizzazione, se non il mio blog? 

Ogni settimana (questo è il mio buon proposito, ma mi perdonerete se altri impegni interferiranno) pubblicherò un oggetto dei miei desideri che mi fa sospirare. L'obiettivo? Ispirarci a vicenda, e aiutare la mia memoria a non dimenticarsi delle cose che ama! Spero inoltre di poter mettere in pratica presto i miei progetti e di condividere con voi anche la loro realizzazione.

A tagliare il nastro inaugurale oggi è un prodotto che bramo dalla prima volta che l'ho visto in foto: rullo di tamburi...

An idea buzzing in my head for some time for my blog was to create some columns, to give me/you fixed arguments and appointments, so I finally decided to take the first step. Because I realized that the mental wishlist for my home is always more nourished and especially messy, I've come up with something elementary but I had never thought about: which container may be more suitable for her body and organization, if not my blog? 

Every week (this is my good proposal about it, but forgive me if other commitments interfere) I'll publish an object of my desires that makes me sigh. The goal? Inspire each other, and help my memory not to forget the things she loves! I also hope to be able to put into practice soon my projects and share with you their realization. 

To cut the ribbon today is a product that I long since the first time I saw it in pictures: drum roll...

Poteva essere altrimenti? Chi mi segue già da un po' sa quale sia il mio debole per mamma Ikea: farei un monumento nazionale a chi l'ha inventata, perchè ha reso e continua a rendere possibile molti dei miei sogni per la mia casa, con i suoi prodotti che sanno sempre coniugare esigenze di estetica e di budget. Come se non bastasse, la collezione PS 2014 che è uscita quest'anno mi ha dato il colpo di grazia, perchè voglio praticamente tutto :D

Questo scaffale è perfetto per le case con poco spazio come la mia essendo stretto e alto, con tanti ripiani e pomelli, e secondo me è anche versatile perchè non riesco a pensare ad un ambiente dove potrebbe stare male. Io ho già deciso cosa ne voglio fare: lo piazzerò in ingresso, per riporre la borsa, la giacca e tutti quegli oggetti di uso quotidiano che necessito di tenere a portata di mano per quando esco. Ma lo adoro anche in cucina, nella versione total betulla!

Oh yes! Could it be otherwise? Whoever follows me for a while knows my weakness for mom Ikea: I would make a national monument to those who invented it, because it has made ​​and continues to make possible many of my dreams for my house, with its products who always knows how to combine aesthetic and budget needs. As if this were not enough, the PS 2014 collection that came out this year gave me the coup de grace, because I desire pretty much everything :D 

This shelf is perfect for homes with limited space such as mine being narrow and high, with lots of shelves and knobs, and I think it's also versatile because I cannot imagine a room where it could look bad. I've already decided how to use it for myself: I'll put it in the entryway, to organize bags, jackets and all those everyday items that I need to keep on hand for when I go out. But I love it also in the kitchen, in the version total birch!
