Last summer DIY + garden restyling

L'estate è finita, ma la scorsa settimana ho fatto in tempo a realizzare un piccolo progetto per il mio giardino che volevo assolutamente allestire in vista della prossima primavera. Vi ricordate la piccola anteprima che avevo postato su Facebook? Questi erano gli indizi...

Summer is over, but last week I finally built a small project for my garden that I absolutely wanted to set up for next spring. Do you remember the little preview I posted on Facebook? These were the clues...

Non era difficile da capire vero? Ho costruito una griglia per rampicanti, per creare una parete che mi desse un po' di privacy in un lato del mio giardino che era esposto agli sguardi dei vicini. Poichè lo spazio da coprire era troppo grande, l'ho dovuta realizzare su misura, ma non è stato difficile: è bastato comprare delle piccole travi e una grata estensibile in legno, e avvitare tutto insieme. Una mano di impregnante per esterni, ed ecco il risultato! Nel vaso ho piantato due clematidi, piante sempreverdi che non necessitano di troppe attenzioni e vanno bene per le pigre come me. Non vedo l'ora che crescano e che fioriscano! E con l'occasione ho fatto anche un piccolo restyling dell'area coperta del giardino, che finalmente ho il coraggio di mostrarvi :)

It wasn't hard to understand, was it? I built a grid for climbing plants, to create a wall that would give me a little privacy in a side of my garden exposed to the eyes of neighbors. I had to custom it because the space to be covered was too big, but it has been not so difficult: I just had to buy small beams and a wood extensible grate, and screw everything together. A coat of primer for outdoors, and here's the result! In the pot I planted two clematis, evergreen plants that don't need too much attention and are perfect for lazy girls like me. Can't wait for them to grow and blossom! I also made a little restyling of the covered area of my garden, so now I finally have the guts to show it to you :)

Wish of the week #2

E' lui o non è lui? Ma cerrrrto che è lui, il famigerato cesto porta biancheria in cotone di House Doctor! Dite, in quante immagini di Pinterest l'avete visto e bramato, magari senza sapere di chi fosse il design? Io lo voglio da mesi, e ha un prezzo pure accessibile! Ma sono quelle classiche cose per cui pensi "non ne ho davvero bisogno", o "magari lo compro online e poi quando mi arriva non mi piace" ecc... Intanto non posso non aggiungerlo alla mia wishlist, chissà che in un moto di intraprendenza non mi decida a prenderlo prima o poi.

Is it or it's not? But of course it is, the famous House Doctor's laundry basket! Tell me, how many pictures of it have you seen on Pinterest, perhaps without knowing who was the designer? I long it for months, and the price is cheap as well! But these are those classic things that you think "I do not really need it", or "maybe I'll buy it online and then, when I get it at home, I don't like it", etc. In the meantime, I cannot wait to add it to my wishlist, who knows, maybe I'll decide to buy it sooner or later.

Il mio preferito è il "plan to wash", semplice e discreto, ma anche quello con le istruzioni di lavaggio mi sta simpatico! Quello a righe è altrettanto bello, ma non vorrei mi stufasse. Voi quale preferite? Per acquistarlo potete cercare un rivenditore sul sito ufficiale, ma dato che ce ne sono pochissimi in Italia, si può fare anche online: basta digitarlo su Google e troverete diversi siti di arredamento che lo vendono anche in euro (l'unica fregatura sono le spese di spedizione). 

My favorite is the "plan to wash" one, simple and discreet, but also the one with the washing instructions is nice! The striped one is just as beautiful, but it could bore me. Which one do you prefer? To buy it you can find a dealer on the official website, but since there are very few in Italy, you can buy it online too: just type it in Google and you will find several furniture sites that sell it also in euro (the only bug is the shipment cost).

Total white home tour

Bianco abbagliante e volumi squadrati: è il regime di questo duplex svedese che, non lo direste mai, è ricavato all'interno di una vecchia costruzione settecentesca in legno in una riserva. Tanta austerità potrebbe sembrare fredda e poco accogliente, ma io l'adoro! Il total white mi trasmette una splendida sensazione di pulizia e ariosità, soprattutto quando è arricchito da altri due elementi tra i miei preferiti, come il legno e il verde domestico. Un tocco di vintage che compare quasi per caso nel living, e accessori neri di design: è stato amore a prima vista <3

Dazzling white and square volumes: is this Swedish duplex' policy, and would you say it? It's housed in an old eighteenth-century wood building inside a reserve. So much austerity could seem cold and unwelcoming, but I love it! The total white gives me a wonderful feeling of cleanliness and airiness, especially enriched with other two elements of my favorites, such as wood and home plants. A touch of vintage that randomly appears in the livingroom, and black design accessories: love at first sight <3

Wish of the Week #1

Un'idea che mi ronzava in testa da tempo per il mio blog era di creare qualche rubrica, per darmi/vi degli argomenti e degli appuntamenti fissi, così finalmente mi sono decisa a fare il primo passo. Siccome mi sono resa conto che la wishlist mentale per la mia casa è sempre più nutrita e soprattutto disordinata, mi è venuta in mente una cosa elementare ma a cui non avevo mai troppo pensato: quale contenitore può essere più adatto per darle corpo e organizzazione, se non il mio blog? 

Ogni settimana (questo è il mio buon proposito, ma mi perdonerete se altri impegni interferiranno) pubblicherò un oggetto dei miei desideri che mi fa sospirare. L'obiettivo? Ispirarci a vicenda, e aiutare la mia memoria a non dimenticarsi delle cose che ama! Spero inoltre di poter mettere in pratica presto i miei progetti e di condividere con voi anche la loro realizzazione.

A tagliare il nastro inaugurale oggi è un prodotto che bramo dalla prima volta che l'ho visto in foto: rullo di tamburi...

An idea buzzing in my head for some time for my blog was to create some columns, to give me/you fixed arguments and appointments, so I finally decided to take the first step. Because I realized that the mental wishlist for my home is always more nourished and especially messy, I've come up with something elementary but I had never thought about: which container may be more suitable for her body and organization, if not my blog? 

Every week (this is my good proposal about it, but forgive me if other commitments interfere) I'll publish an object of my desires that makes me sigh. The goal? Inspire each other, and help my memory not to forget the things she loves! I also hope to be able to put into practice soon my projects and share with you their realization. 

To cut the ribbon today is a product that I long since the first time I saw it in pictures: drum roll...

Eh sì! Poteva essere altrimenti? Chi mi segue già da un po' sa quale sia il mio debole per mamma Ikea: farei un monumento nazionale a chi l'ha inventata, perchè ha reso e continua a rendere possibile molti dei miei sogni per la mia casa, con i suoi prodotti che sanno sempre coniugare esigenze di estetica e di budget. Come se non bastasse, la collezione PS 2014 che è uscita quest'anno mi ha dato il colpo di grazia, perchè voglio praticamente tutto :D

Questo scaffale è perfetto per le case con poco spazio come la mia essendo stretto e alto, con tanti ripiani e pomelli, e secondo me è anche versatile perchè non riesco a pensare ad un ambiente dove potrebbe stare male. Io ho già deciso cosa ne voglio fare: lo piazzerò in ingresso, per riporre la borsa, la giacca e tutti quegli oggetti di uso quotidiano che necessito di tenere a portata di mano per quando esco. Ma lo adoro anche in cucina, nella versione total betulla!

Oh yes! Could it be otherwise? Whoever follows me for a while knows my weakness for mom Ikea: I would make a national monument to those who invented it, because it has made ​​and continues to make possible many of my dreams for my house, with its products who always knows how to combine aesthetic and budget needs. As if this were not enough, the PS 2014 collection that came out this year gave me the coup de grace, because I desire pretty much everything :D 

This shelf is perfect for homes with limited space such as mine being narrow and high, with lots of shelves and knobs, and I think it's also versatile because I cannot imagine a room where it could look bad. I've already decided how to use it for myself: I'll put it in the entryway, to organize bags, jackets and all those everyday items that I need to keep on hand for when I go out. But I love it also in the kitchen, in the version total birch!

Diciamocelo, non si può non amarlo. E voi ce l'avete nella vostra casa? Che uso ne avete fatto? Sono curiosa di sapere, e anche di vedere le foto! :)

The best of A/W 2014 collections

Ciao a tutti e bentornati, a me e a voi! E' stato un Agosto per me velocissimo e quasi senza vacanze purtroppo, perchè quando tutti vanno in ferie io solitamente lavoro ancora di più... quindi il tempo per mettere in pratica tutte le idee che avevo per il mio amato blog non c'è stato, ma sono riuscita a concentrare qualche modifica che volevo assolutamente fare in quest'ultima settimana, ed ecco il risultato!

Le novità maggiori? Una grafica più fresca, una nuova rubrica che partirà in settimana (vi tengo un po' sulle spine eheh) e la doppia lingua per i post, per accontentare i miei lettori anglofoni.

Ma soprattutto, in questo mese non ho fatto altro che sbavare sulle centinaia di immagini di nuove collezioni autunno/inverno che stanno uscendo da tutte le parti nel mondo dell'interior design... era una vera tortura e non vedevo l'ora di pubblicare un post a proposito! La selezione è come sempre difficile, ma alla fine ho eletto la mia top five di brand stagionali: rifatevi gli occhi ;)

Hello everyone and welcome back to me and to you! It's been a fast August for me and unfortunately almost no holidays, because when everyone goes on vacation I usually work even more... So I didn't found enough time to put into practice all the ideas I had for my beloved blog, but I was able to concentrate a few changes that I really wanted to do this last week, and here's the result! 

Announcements more? A fresher graphic, a new column that will start in the week (I keep you guessing a little more hehe) and the double language for the posts, to please my english-speaking readers. 


But above all, during this month I kept on drooling over hundreds of pictures of the new autumn/winter collections, that are coming out from all sides of the world of interior design... it was a real torture and I could not wait anymore to publish a post about it! The selection has been difficult as always, but in the end I have chosen my seasonal brands top five: feast your eyes ;)
